One dollar a day for the first thousand days!

Dirty Girl Adventures (aka. Chicas de la Tierra) is heading to beautiful Guatemala in February 2020 for a tough but life-changing adventure challenge to raise funds for the Healthy Mommy & Me initiative of the Organization for the Development of Indigenous Maya (ODIM) in Guatemala. We will hike the highlands, kayak on Lake Atitlan, climb the San Pedro volcano, and participate in a service project to support mothers and their babies.

Guatemala is facing serious challenges when it comes to malnutrition. Two thirds of the overall population live on less than $2 per day. As a result, the prevalence of stunting in children under 5 is one of the highest in the world – and the highest in Latin America and the Caribbean. In fact, in the rural communities where ODIM works, 8 out of 10 children are malnourished.

Through the Healthy Mommy & Me initiative, ODIM provides mothers and babies from rural communities with medical checks, health education, family planning talks, vitamins and supplements, to give the children a healthy start in life from conception to their second birthday — and you can be a part of it.

This is a GROUP donation page that will be shared by all the Dirty Girls who are participating in the service trip. Essentially, this is for our fellow Dirty Girls who would like to support all of us.

Will you help me give two children in Guatemala a healthy start in life?
